After selling their first home, Brook and Daniel found themselves back in an apartment downtown when their next housing plan unexpectedly fell through. Adjusting from caring for a yard and property to having little to do after work was a tough transition. Luckily, a nearby park with pickleball courts offered a new outlet. One afternoon, Daniel grabbed a paddle and biked over to check it out. It wasn’t long before he met an older gentleman who welcomed him into some games and showed him the ropes. That gentleman, known as Pancake — a nickname with a story for another time — has since become both a mentor and a close friend.

Before every game, Pancake would say one thing:
“Play good. Have fun.”

It’s simple, but it stuck. That phrase has become the way Daniel approaches pickleball — and it’s what inspired the name behind this brand. You don’t have to be flashy! Playing good is enough. And if you're not having fun while doing it... what’s the point?
